Kirklees Metropolitan Council Coat of Arms - Jim Wrathall

Kirklees was formed in 1974 from the amalgamation of 11 local Boroughs including Huddersfield, Mirfield, Dewsbury and Batley and the name Kirklees was taken from the nearby Kirklees Priory. The symbolism on the Coat of Arms represents the land, the M62 motorway, the woollen industry and the religious and local history of the area. 12"x12"
